The idea of a Recipe Recommendation app had been in my mind for some time (partly due to my frustration of always lacking ingredients) but it was while I was thinking of creating a dribbble profile to work on my visual design skills that I finally decided to work on the UI.

While creating my design, I wanted to diverge from a trend that I had noticed while browsing through dribbble. For a lot of the designs that I came across there was a lack of focus on accessibility as they used font sizes/contrast and colours that favoured visuals over usability. I really wanted to create something that worked both as a visual design showcase but also could be realized into a functioning application that is accessible in terms of fonts, contrast and ease of use. This goal pushed me towards designing a minimalist UI.
